Majestic Caribbean/Beachy Landscapes

Bio

Cecilia Ann Raphael Brown is a Roswell based Artist and mother of 4 daughters, grandchildren, and her great- granddaughter and namesake, Naomi Cecilia. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, with roots in Louisiana, married and moved to Los Angeles, California to raise their four daughters and manage their household. While raising her children, she enjoyed creating matching ornate outfits in suede, leather, wool, and lace. She also enjoyed her family tradition of elaborate baking, culinary perfection, embroidery, needlepoint, knitting, crocheting and all things creative. Having started her college career at the Pittsburgh Teacher’s College, she completed her college years in California at CSUDH while raising her children. She subsequently enjoyed an impressive career outside of the home after raising and inspiring her daughters with travel often to Southern and Northern California, Hawaii, Mexico, The Bahamas, Brazil and France.
In the early 2000s, Cecilia retired, and enticing her with the artistic underpinnings in Roswell, was moved to Georgia by her daughter and son-in-law who sensed her desire to realize her dreams and be closer to her grandchildren. She brought along with her, her West Coast images, international travel experiences, and discovered new passions encompassing Bridge and artistic endeavors. Cecilia's interest in Bridge was incredibly piqued by the last of 6 grandchildren, Divali Maya, to engage in the instruction and engagement in Bridge at the local community center in addition to drawing and painting for the first time (although as kids, her daughters felt she was always phenomenal at coloring). Grounded in these newly sparked interests, she maintains a quite youthful outlook and viewpoint on everyday activities. Over the past 7 years, she has explored numerous new techniques and loves to illustrate everything from flowers and landscapes to animals, fish, insects, and abstracts.

Cecilia’s loving and supportive family includes 4 incredible daughters, 6 adoring grandchildren, and an adorable great granddaughter who continues to energize and awaken new artful talents in her.

The 2018 Links Artisan Showcase was the public debut of Cecilia’s Creations.
